For generations, lavender has been used to soothe the nervous system, ease tension, and promote rest — three things that are deeply needed during pregnancy and the postpartum period. While "latch" often refers to a specific feeding technique, it also symbolizes connection and nourishment, regardless of how it occurs. Whether at the breast, at the chest, or with a bottle of expressed milk, feeding is about responsiveness, love, and attunement.

Together, Lavender & Latch embodies the balance between clinical expertise and compassionate support, creating a space where families feel calm, confident, and cared for.

The Heart Behind The Name

Erica is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and health equity practitioner dedicated to supporting families through compassionate, evidence-based lactation care. Her work is grounded in both clinical expertise and personal experience. After facing her own breastfeeding challenges with her first son, whom she exclusively pumped for, Erica developed a deep passion for helping other families navigate their feeding journeys.

With over 15 years of experience in public health, she brings a unique, systems-informed perspective to lactation care. She understands that feeding outcomes are shaped not just by individual choices, but by the systems, support, and access surrounding families. Her approach centers on meeting families where they are and providing practical, culturally responsive care. She has been an IBCLC for 3 years and previously worked at the Arizona Breastfeeding Center.

Erica holds a Master of Public Health and a Certificate in Community Nutrition and is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES). An Arizona native, she lives in Phoenix with her husband and two sons.
