  • An IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) is a highly trained breastfeeding specialist. Working with an IBCLC means you get expert support for latch issues, milk supply concerns, pumping, nipple pain, and other feeding challenges with a care plan tailored to you and your baby.

  • During a lactation consultation, an IBCLC assesses feeding, latch, milk transfer, pumping needs, and any breastfeeding concerns you may have. You’ll receive personalized support and a care plan tailored to you and your baby.

  • You can see a lactation consultant anytime you have questions about breastfeeding, pumping, milk supply, latch, or infant feeding. Many families reach out in the first days after birth, but prenatal lactation support can also be helpful if you want to prepare before your baby arrives.

  • Signs your baby is getting enough milk can include steady weight gain, regular wet and dirty diapers, and feeding that seems effective and consistent. If you’re worried about milk intake or weight gain, a lactation consultant can assess feeding and help you feel more confident about how your baby is doing.

  • Currently, AHCCCS does not cover lactation services. However, if you have AHCCCS or are uninsured and experiencing financial hardship, we offer a sliding scale fee. To learn more about sliding scale options, reach out directly to Erica at erica@lavenderandlatch.com or (602) 691-5862. All inquiries are handled with care and complete confidentiality.
